Brand new foglight sourced from Porsche Germany

hiya
just as i was about to purchase a used foglight unit from James at only-9 i called my chaps who informed they had rung my landline a couple of times to inform me they had sourced a brand new fog light unit from Porsche Germany for £165,,,,
, They have done me a big favour but she is going in for cambelt,,camchain,,,water pump etc,etc service plus just replaced a clutch,dmf,,mot and two tyres on the r32 in the first week of jan18 for us,,,,
So just like buses,, two come along at once lol
so if anybody need front fogs then contact James at Only-9.. as of tonight i know he has a pass-side fog unit,,,,,,,

My concern would be that is only the lens/bulb unit, approx £200 from any OPC, the problem comes when you try to separate the unit to swap the lens, the screws seize in metal bushes pressed into the plastic rear, usually destroy the part you need saving the lens....or destroy the complete lamp.
 
I always worry if a bulb goes in either of them on the 924S's-so far the 2 screws have always come out easily & have been copiously greased when re-inserted but considering where they are positioned ,they should be regularly checked for corrosion.
 
I have a 92 944 S2 and my front fogs are starting to rust internally. Is a new unit the only solution? If so have you got contact details for Porsche Germany?

just rang my chaps and the part was ordered from Porsche Uk but is coming from Germany and they got the part for trade i believe so keeping the price down,,,,
best of luck and you may want to call James at Only-9 as he may still have the parts your looking for,,,,jasonp

I think its prudant to let you know that my part ordered was not for the whole unit [ as mr ruddy wrote above],,,
whole unit is just under £400 i think but i only needed the glass and my chaps did the ordering as they know exactly what i need and will be fitting it ,,,,
I saved between £30-£40 i estimate.. compared with others who have it for £220+,,,,
