Brands Hatch 2005 - 28th-29th August

early 911

Moderator
Obviously I'm going to need cars for the register display ('display' doesn't IMHO mean the best of the best - it's simply enthusiasts cars - although I good spread of models would be nice).

This year is going to be super organised and therefore I'm giving people prior knowledge of the requirements.

- each register will have enough room for approximately 12 cars[:(]
- the booking forms (in Post) from June onwards will ask whether you want you car included in the register display - so we're going to have to operate a first come first served basis
- it will be down to Robin and me to decide on the final make up of the cars (which kind of contradicts 1st come 1st served - but it we get a load of 71 T Targa's etc, etc)
- each car will have an information sheet pre-prepared and therefore I will need to know the following:
- Year of build
- Model type and number
- Engine Capacity
- Engine power, and performance details
- Type of bodywork
- Exterior colour and paint code number of known
- Interior colour and material
- Wheel and tyre size
- Any special details, keep this to a maximum of three lines, any history, any modifications
- Owners name and region
- Registration number, how many previous owners
As the register area is so small, I might try and cordon off an area of the public car park for early Porsches generally i.e. for those who didn't make the display, didn't want to, turned up on the day, non-members (e.g. DDK) etc. But don't hold me to this - plus this won't be manned (so difficult to control).

Regardless . . . I hope you can make it.

Phil

Phil, I am really going to try & spend the whole weekend @ Brands for the festival ( are we having an 'early 911' camping area? ). Would love my car to be on the stand BUT due to my wife expecting our 2nd child at the beginning of Aug, I can't lay any plans down in stone yet. When is the latest you need to know for?

Camping area - - definately yes . . . although will admit to booking into a hotel for one of the nights[:)] . . . . (so I can get the chains and rubber mask out)

Don't have a cut off date as yet . . . I'll register your interest, and see how it pans out.

BTW FRIDAY IS THE LAST DAY FOR PRE-PURCHASED TICKETS FOR BEAULIEU - SEE THREAD ON TOP OF THIS FORUM FOR MORE DETAILS

Guy's and gal's . . . .

Still no cut off date . . . . but I'm being pressured to get numebrs together . . . so please, if your coming (for the majority of the day), please let me know and I'll get you in the Register Parking.

Pretty please . . . . pretty, pretty please.

Phil

With the best intentions I will say yes to Brands as it's a while away and hpoefully give me time to get her running. The only way I'll be forced to let you down is if I get let down but hopefully with the support of the club that won't be an issue. I'll also have a word with my two friends with Porsches to see it they fancy boosting the world record numbers.

I can get you more concrete answers by very early next week or maybe tomorrow. Hate making promises I can't keep!

put more pix up here as promised http://www.autoinfozone.com/porschepix.htm

Just spoken to one friend and he'll bring his Boxter for the world record attempt should have another 911 also - will let you know.

It's just occoured to me that we can break two world records at the same time - the most Porsches on the track and the world's most expensive banger race!!!

Phil,

I`ll be camping, dont know yet which day I`ll be turning up, am waiting for Tony Bull to let me know, it will be Thursday night onwards until Monday, depending on the days I`m scheduled to help.

Michael Lacy

Hi Micheal . . . you really are a glutten for punishment (make sure you get some free time this year [;)]).

I'll be camping from Saturday eve.

See you there.

Phil

Hi Phill,

Just an update - I've got an insurance engineer coming to look at the damage so still can give a definitive answer as to whether I'll be able to bring the car but having spoken to my friend he'd like to bring the boxster, do you need to know details for this or is it another section.

Not sure exactly what the plans are or how this all is organised having just joined. There seem to be so many areas and am still a bit confused - some say I've been confused all my life but there you go
