Brands Hatch this Wednesday

I'm going with my son and son in law.

We will be in a Brown 997 turbo Cab, a Black 997 cab and a silver Boxster RS 60.

I haven't had a 'Go' around Brands for a few years , so it will be interesting to see how I can muck up the first corner before the down hill bit !

Going in the GT3 so if anyone fancies being terrified (and seeing what a real Porsche is like) I am happy to oblige - especially if its wet....................(and on tyres which were shagged at North Weald last Wednesday)

What's it like Richard?[;)]

Its very different from those noisy air cooled jobbies which are so last year.....

seriously, its a revelation and quite the best one I have owned but my ideal would be the GT3 motor in a 964 body but with the 964 sound track (I haven't completely lost it[8|][8|])

I have always said the GT3 Engine is the best ever they stuck in a 911 ... I could never and still not get my head round why the GT3 Brigade who countlessly go on about dymag wheels and spending buckets and buckets on modifications to make them stop better, track better and faster. WHY they don't buya 996Cup Car in the first place!!!!

[FONT=verdana, geneva"]Des - I agree with you - mine will remain largely as God intended until such time as things HAVE to be replaced but it will also be my only car so a Cup car is not really an option.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Agree Richard, the car is a true GT in road guise. However there is a large fraternity that just track them as a second car much the the same as the 964/993 RS crowd. The 996Cup is a true factory Leichtbau an out of the box track car, which with a minor tweeks can be made road legal. Think it weighs less than a 964RS about 1100kg. They are just awesome blowing my doors off the Kummel two at a time either side, I'm sure they target the poor peddling 260 brake 64RS in their sites, and they are gone .... different story with the RoutemeistersKettlewagens waddling round like a herd of whales in the tight corners .... Richard I would recommend www.onthebusesfanclub.co.uk [:D]

Has anyone ever road registered a 996 cup car? Can't say as I have ever seen one.

Yes a common site at the Ring and Tomas Smitzen has sold several. Also a few 996 C2 conversions done very well. Just makes so much sense to me.
