break callipers needs painting

Classic error - the paint on my break callipers has been blasted by an over zealous car wash.

Ive found a company in Nottingham who will paint and recondition the callipers for 450 quid - BCS (Break Calliper Specialists)

Anybody recommend them? (or anyone else for that matter) - Im based in London, so something closer to home would be better of course

thanks

Hi Crossa

I did the same but saved myself a lot of money by doing it myself.
Have a look on YouTube " How to properly paint your brake callipers" and there are other threads showing you how to do it.
Good Luck

I did it myself too only a couple of weeks ago.

I used a can of Red Brake Caliper spray paint from Halfords and PORSCHE decals I found online.

before:

After:

The lacquer was coming away on my calipers but only on the fronts, the rears still looked like new. But the real driver to get this done was due to having my wheels refurbished. I sent my wheels away but needed a replacement set of wheels for my car to sit on in my garage. I did the same with my previous car a 986 Boxster S and borrowing a spare set of Boxster wheels from a friend. I borrowed the same set again assuming they'd fit the 911 just fine. I only had to go from a flat area in front of the driveway into the garage, I had no intention of actualy driving it on them. Turns out the Boxster wheels don't quite clear the front brake calipers! It didn't do any real damage, just skimmed the paint off the front edge as per the pictures below:

My my biggest concern was over spray so I masked up everything I didn't want paint on and I mean everything, I wrapped the entire car.

Car wrapped, Boxster S wheels on the rear, newly refurbished wheels on the lawn, they were moved before the painting began.

I measured up up the exact position of the original PORSCHE stencil to ensure the new decal went in correctly.

Rubbed the Caliper down removing all the flaking lacquer and the stencilled lettering. Masked up everything I didn't intend to paint, discs, bleed nipples, pads removed.

I recoated ever twenty five to thirty minutes as per the instructions until the can was empty. Left it on stands overnight before applying the Decals and refitting the original/refurbished wheels.

Took a quite a few hours over two days but it was well worth it. The front calipers now look every bit as good as the rears. I'm not shy when it comes to spending out on my pride and joy, currently at around £5k this year but I also don't mind doing some things myself either. This was time consuming but not particularly hard and the result is fantastic, far better thanI expected, very pleased.
