Hey group....

Anybody know where to buy a break light bulb for a '91 944 S2? Halfords don't do them, and I['m struggling to find any on the Internet...

Thanks,
Darren.

I haven't checked so I might be wrong, but aren't the brake lights just 21w single filament bulbs as used for indicators on most cars?

Yeah, I think so, I had to replace one of mine recently and I had a spare knocking around. Should be a few quid and halfords did used to do them. They have stopped doing certain things though, I went in last week to get some more zymol car wash, and they don't do that any more. I thought I would get some plus gas while I was there, and it turns out they don't do that anymore either. Looks like unless it's got chav wagon written all over it halfords are going to stop selling it soon.[8|]

Tell me about it. I bought a battery there yesterday and had to wait ages while Chav-boy got vouchers as change because he had £20.47 worth of alloy tax disc holders and seat belt pads (seriously), two £20 vouchers and not even enough cash to pay the 47p (seriously again). I got outside just in time to see him and his 3 baseball-capped mates getting into an N-reg Metro ROTFL (no offence Paul [;)]). It actually looked standard so I guess he got Christmas vouchers to start chavving it up with but had to save for the petrol to get to Half-rods. At least he'll never be able to afford the "Violator" body kit and 19" rims...

Yes. I'm sure you can because thinking about it my cab had a dodgy one last year at MoT time and the test station just bunged another one in and passed it. Cost me 50p mind!

halfords are good for somthing Dim staff in my experience, as soon as you say have you got, and its for a Porsche they quite literaly wet their pants and start to wave over other like minded staff, did i say staff i ment intellectually challenged people who stand for 10 minutes and discuss weather they have the part or not, usually not. However in most case's the item you want is in stock and in store and when you point it out the same glased look apears over their eyes once more. My experience of halfords is to go around and have a good go at finding it your self, or failing that send your 17 year old son or brother in and when they ask for the car the parts from simply say its for a Nova and bingo. sorry for whining on but halfords has always been abit ropy but over the last couple of years its really gone down hill, unless you want blue leds in your windscreen washers or stick on body panels, and 10 year olds serving you.

Back to the original question as far as im aware the break light is a standard bulb, i have swapped one over from my 5 series BMW to check one once and it was fine.

Many thanks guys - on to Halfords for that 'glazed, wotyatalkinbout?' look from Terry and Kevin behind the desk....

Now all I have to do is fit the little bugger....

It's a standard bulb, but it's not the common stop/tail twin filament version most cars use.

BTW and I don't intend to offend, but it's BRAKE not break. On of my pet hates that, sorry.
