Bridgestone RE050 or Michelin Pilot Sport?

I'm looking to change the rear tyres on my 987, but I'm torn between the Bridgestone RE050 or Michelin Pilot Sport. I've read good reviews about both of these, but I've read the Bridgestone's are a little noisier, but are about £50 a tyre less. I've currently got PS2's on the car, which have been fine for me. I never do track days and never drive it silly and barely do 4k miles a year in it.

Also, are 97Y rated tyres ok to use? It's currently got 101Y rated at the moment? Does this make a difference at all?

Thanks

I've just replaced my rear bridgstones, after 21000 miles, found them to be excellent, far better tyre than the Michelins that were factory fitted, had to have the Michelins changed at 15000 miles

Looking forward to the next 20000 mls on my Bridgestones

Unless you are planning on changing all 4 tyres and not just the rears you will have to stick to the PS2s as tyre brand mixing is not recommended.

IMHO Unless you are planning on changing all 4 tyres and not just the rears you will have to stick to the PS2s as tyre brand mixing is not recommended if you have more money than sense .
I wouldn't mix tyres on the same axle but wouldn't think twice about having a pair on the back and a different pair on front

I have Bridgestones RE050 on all four wheels, Porsche OPC very kindly changed me from Michelin's to Bridgestone a couple of years ago when they could not locate any 19 inch tyres, they paid for the fronts and I bought the rears, not bad 4 new tyres for only £530

Pilot super sports are now available , even better than PS2 or PS3 - low road noise, excellent wet and dry grip and similar good wearing properties. I had bridgestones many years ago on an RX7 and they were great but wore out very quickly. Good Year are now also OEM suppliers for porsche tyres...another option maybe ?
