Hi All,

It looks like Sunday is going to be a lovely warm day and we are going to have a good turn out for a day at the seaside.

I have a couple of little details for you:

When you arrive please look out for the hi vis jackets we will get you parked up. If anyone can help out there is always a bit of room for extra help.

We have the use of the Bay View Room which is within the Spa itself and is in North End of the building and it looks like we will be using the Northern entrance.

There will be a light buffet available from 12.00 in this room, you will need a wrist band to gain entrance so see us when you arrive. This has been kindly provided for us but clearly the more people the lighter it will be [:D]

The event has been well advertised and so there should be a good turn out to have a look at the cars. If you want to get up early then Andrew will be on Radio Humberside at 7.15am Sunday morning. You can also catch him on Yorkshire Coast Radio but we are not sure when this is going out as it is pre-recorded.

See you all Sunday and have a great day out.

Good day at Bridlington I think.

Many thanks to Paul, John, Rita, Dave, Randolph and Mark for the excellent marshalling throughout and thanks to all members and fellow Porsche owners who attended.

I am meeting EYRC on Thursday to discuss this year and to think about 2015 so if anyone has any thoughts re. things we can make better then please pop a comment on this string. Also if anyone has any comments re. the buffet and room we had then please let us know - positives as well as development areas would be welcomed.

Andrew

Thanks to you Andrew and Mark too for organising the event. Also thanks to everyone from R4 and Tipec who added some welcome new faces and cars to the display - hope I didn't forget any other clubs!
Special thanks to the Spa management and staff who worked very hard to cope with an increasing number of Porsche owners!! Very enjoyeable buffet and, having been among the first into the room, plenty of choice - ok, I know, later arrivals didn't have the choice - hungry Yorkies at the front as ever!
Guess the parking for us will be better, when the building work has finished, as will be the work for marshals. Any way thanks to the Spa for letting us park as we did today - all over the place!

P.

Thank you Andrew for organising today's event - fantastic turn out maybe 80 Porsches - quite a display around the Spa. Buffet provided by East Riding Council was excellent, our thanks to the staff.

Have a few photos which will be sent to Mark for the gallery.

Paul

Thanks for the comments - will pass on to EYCC.

Yes, parking will get easier once the sea front works are finished ( they were due to be complete 3 weeks ago ). In 2015 we should be able to use the areas used today plus the prom which will be great - and essential if the numbers continue to increase!

Thanks for all your help today - was great to see you both.

Andrew

Massive thanks to Andrew Warner for putting this event together it is very much appreciated, and Paul, Dave and Randolph for helping out on the marshalling. Today was a huge success with around 95 cars during the day. We were right on the limit of space at one point but it worked out fine.

Good to some old cars on the road and our neighbours from R4 and TIPEC.

Buffet was very welcome and very impressive quality, shame our office caterers weren't there to see it.

Will sort out photos tomorrow.

Thanks to the organisers and marshals for today's event.

Lisa and I had a great day with some great friends and cars.

See you all soon.

Mike.

Huge thanks to all involved in organising , marshalling and generally putting together a great day, really enjoyed the run out , gathering at the Spa and walk along the beach !

A great day out today and lovely to see such a good turn out and so many friends, many thanks to all concerned who organised it and a big thank you to Bridlington council for their hospitality.

If we get the room again next year, should we put a R7 display up in there? to try and sign up a few more member to PCGB? and yes I'd be prepared to man it over the lunch period (Mark and Carol do enough with out burdening them further).

Also Doug's idea of have a donation bucket at the end of the buffet table, was very good - if everyone today threw a couple of pounds in, we would have been able to given circa ÂŁ180 to a worthy cause for something local, like the lifeboat, air ambulance or other local charity. Which bearing in mind we were allowed to park for free, were given lunch, tea & coffee and didn't have to pay for a pee, is pretty good in this day and age!

Thanks again,

Tony

Sounds as though the day was a success, sorry to have missed but was on the opposite coast in Llandudno flying the flag.
Weather brought the cars out there as well with over 200 cars on the prom, an apparent record turnout.

Congratulations to Andrew Warner for organising a superb event at The Spa, and to all the volunteer marshalls who had all cars parked up quickly with very little traffic disruption. And many thanks to Bridlington Council for providing the facility and a tremendous buffet which was appreciated by all. It was also wonderful to chat to members of the public who took great interest in the cars on display.
With 40 cars last year, and nearly 100 this year, this could turn into a very large event!

Many Thanks again

Geoff & Julia

On the picture marked "thats not a Porsche" you can just see my white Boxster S, which amusingly when two lads walked past it I overheard one say "thats not a proper Porsche".

Anyway, thanks for the organisation and making a newcomer feel welcome, after Bridlington my partner and I went to Filey and all in all it was probably the best day out in my car since I got it last August.

Ditto all the above.
Fantastic day except the sun took a while to appear!
Good idea about the donation bucket Andrew, we should give something back to Council for such a great event.
Looking forward to next year already.
Many thanks to the organisers, marshals and a welcome buffet.
See you all again soon

John, Jane and Daniel (maybe 3 cars next year!)
