On June 2 we have been invited by East Riding County Council to have a club visit to Bridlington. The Council is trying to promote the town as a destination for motoring enthusiasts and already hosts a couple of very successful Classic car club runs and a mammoth scooter rally They are offering safe free parking in the area round the Spa which is on the sea front and free coffee and a bun in The Spa Café.
As most of you will know the drive to Bridlington over the Wolds is one not to be missed ( though keeping and eye out for the BIB is recommended ! ) and Bridlington itself has its own unique charm. The fish and chips are excellent and the South Beach has to be one of the best in the country for a walk ( or picnic lunch). Details are still being finalised but it seems likely that there will only be space for a maximum of around 25 cars as they are digging up part of the prom. If it is a success this year they are making encouraging noises about more space in the future.
A club member (s) will keep an eye on the cars during the day to ensure the public enjoy looking at them and to answer any questions they may have.
Given the great drive over we will be organise a start point that allows us arrive together.
If you would like to join in then sign up below, if you have any questions then get in contact with Mark (r7@porscheclubgb.com) or the event organiser Andrew Warner (a1947@hotmail.co.uk)
(Apologies to Paul for adding to his post.)
Only seen details for this in the events list. If the 2nd June is confirmed, I'd like to kick off the list of Attendees ( but don't want to be there on my own!).
Who knows, we might need air-con by then!
