Who's up for this event? It coincides with 50 years since the first F1 Porsche victiory. I intend to use the Park and Ride facility from the North of Bourne. This is open fom 8.30am and the event itself starts at 11.00am. Something for Lincolnshire to be proud of.

Keith, It was always in the pipeline for some of us to attend, unfortunately with the park & ride it has reduced the value of all attending in Porsches. I will be there, as far as I am aware Richard and Pam are going, Steve and Lyn for sure and Andrew Walsh. Not sure how many others but it will be a great day!

Weather for Sunday is good, Park and ride car parks available from every direction at £3/ car. Richard and I will be in the A15 North Car park 10:30ish. The format for the day is on the BRM day website: http://www.brmday.co.uk/plans.html Anyone want to meet up at Lunch 1-2pm, we will be at the AW repair group stand in the bush tyres trade village. Hope to see lots of you there to share in Lincolnshires motor Racing history. I tried to find any tenuous links to porsche, alas I havn't found any yet! Except, one of the few cars to beat a Porsche 917/10 in the Interserie in 1971/2 was the BRM P167 ironically driven by Brian Redman, a former Porsche 917 driver. Pedro Rodriguez and Jo Siffert were amongst a list of other drivers who drove for BRM and Porsche works teams at the same time. ( sorry for being an Anorak)

Julie and I should be there on Sunday, probably Dave Reynolds and Robert Gant too. North car park by about 10.30. Will be at the trade park for 1pm.

See you all at 10:30ish in the A15 Northern Carpark or at 1300 at the Trade village. Not bringing the Porsche to sit in a field all day.

For those that ventured into Bourne yesterday for the BRM day, I know you will have had a brilliant day. Vitually all of the BRM F1 cars were running through the streets of Bourne, along with the grid of the 1962 season (Ferrari, lotus, Cooper, BRM, etc) along with ERA, Tyrell, Pilbeam. There was also a parade of old F1 transporters, bringing back many memories. Drivers who attended, drove and mingled with the crowds included: Sir Jackie Stewart, Damon Hill, Richard Attwood, Jackie Oliver. There was also a Gas Turbine powered BRM, which ran at Le-Mans and would have won it's class. For me, watching and hearing the two BRM V16s was the highlight, these 1500cc Supercharged 16 cylinder engines are beyond belief. If you did consider going but changed your mind, you really missed a once in a lifetime experience. Lincolnshire really had something great to celebrate and this was reflected by the vast numbers who turned up and lined the route. A satisfied BRM fan!

What a great day, hundreds of people turning out to see some past history of Bourne. Photos that were taken on the day are here http://photobucket.com/Brmday

Yes it was a great day with a fabulous show of cars put on in a small Lincolnshire town. One aspect not mentioned so far that really impressed me was the availability of food . I went into a little shop and bought a tuna and cucumber sandwich, a ham and tomato sandwich, two hot sauage rolls and a can of coke all for £5. What a change in these days of "rip off" Britain (think about the Olympics). Mentiomimg value for money in Lincolnshire, have you noticed the prices in the pub in Little Cawthorpe that Lynda has found for this months pub visit? Hope to see you there before we lose the hour. Keith
