Well, having missed out on a good portion of the Summer due to cylinder scoring issues I have finally made some progress. Those nice folk at Hartech have diagnosed the extent of the problems and recommended a solution. In addition they have a few suggestions while the engine is out, much of which concurs with the opinions of some of our kind members who have offered me their advice during this fraught and anxious time. So, six new cylinder linings, timing chain, valve guides, piston bits and pieces and may as well do the IMS while we're on.

So, thanks again for your encouragement and advice and should anyone notice a beggar in a blue boxster at the next outing....spare a few coppers for a cuppa tea!
