Broken door handle lever

Hi
My near side door lever has snapped !
I contacted Porsche and they said it would need a complete new handle, lock and all. Does anyone know if this is correct ?
Thany you

From memory the barrel can be removed so swapped to a new/used handle
I'm guessing its the outside lever that has snapped?
If it is I'm not sure if just the lever can be swapped from another handle. Porsche would only sell the handle as a whole unit

Hope this helps a bit

If the trigger has broken, you would need to buy the barrel and key to get the trigger part as it comes on one unit, £216.48 plus VAT from OPC, you can then remove your old barrel and replace the one in the new unit so you have the same key as before, easy to do when you have the handle off the door.

I have a left hand side barrel & trigger unit, used but good condition, available for £100.

They are cast aluminium and break as the door mechanism can get a little stiff over time, need some tlc and oil/grease after twenty years.
You don’t need the complete handle as everyone above has said, just the barrel and lever/mech. It all comes apart easily and everything can be swapped. Though they are marked left and right, they are interchangeable for both sides.
Once you have it repaired it may be a good idea to remove the other side and give it a clean and lube.

Enjoy ??
