Trying to get my recently purchased 958 up to what I call scratch is proving to be very satisfying indeed.
My Cayenne came without a luggage / parcel shelf cover and at the time I really wasn’t too bothered. But .... in the chase to get the car 100% right I sought out a few options on eBay. I was shocked at the price of these shelves and some sellers are even asking upwards of £350. The earlier and later Cayenne shelves are less than half that price. Odd, but its the market that determines prices.
I managed to negotiate a half decent price which was accepted and I took delivery a few days later.
Unfortunately, one of the 4 retaining clips to the back seats it was damaged in transit.
The seller (Eurocarparts1) were really very good, offering a full refund on return, keep it with £100 refund or have it repaired.
This is what it should look like:
I decided that I would see if there was a repair kit form Porsche – and indeed there was, for the grand sum of £12 before PCGB discount!
The kit arrived a few days later at PC Bolton and I took a nice drive there to see what looked like hundreds of Porsche cars covered in Sahara dust. Someone’s going to be very busy indeed.
Once home the repair took about 5 mins in total. The hardest part was taking out the parcel shelf.
I didn’t bother asking Eurocarparts1for a refund of the £100 or the repair kit cost as I felt they had been very fair and prompt in their communication and offers. Taking advantage of there generous offers is not what I do.
Here is the packet that the repair kit came in should anyone else need to do the same job.
Two more jobs to sort and then its perfection!!
Happy 958 motoring.
