Broken make-up mirror flap

Hi. I lent my parents my 03 boxster 2.7 for the weekend, unfortunately somehow as they put the roof down the flap that covers the passenger's make-up mirror has broken off. Has this happened to anyone elese, and any suggestions on how to fix it? Many thanks.

This is not something that hasn't happened before, my wife done it a while back but luckily it was repairable.
Has it actually broken off or just lost it's 'snap' when you return it to the closed position?

It looks like both of the small plastic rods that held it in have snapped off. Rather than shell out for a new one I thought of DIYing it possibly with the aid of superglue...

Mine was more straight forward it had only flicked the return springs over so it was just a case of stripping it down and reassembling it.[8|]
Best of luck with the superglue [:-] though you could always keep an eye on ebay as they have appeared on there from time to time........

Phone your OPC for the price of a new insert (NOT the entire mirror). If it is an unlit one it is quite cheap and an easy job -- pop out pop in -- the lit inserts are more expensive and need a bit of fiddling with (maybe soldering, I can't recall).
There is quite an extensive thread about this on Renntech:

I'd check with your OPC too for a price. I've noticed on more than one occasion that breakers have been quoting me higher prices for second hand stuff than the OPC does for new, not PA necessarily, but its worth checking. Remember that OPC Exeter gives a 10% discount for forum members and usually posts free, which makes a big difference on the small stuff.
