Broken Sunroof cable UPDATE

First my sunroof leaks, then it sqeeks, then sunroof gears break, now my sunroof cable broke yesterday and it ended up in my boot, in the battery well, all 4 foot of it! Will I have to take it to an OPC to fix this? It looks like a big job to thread the cable from the motor to the far end of the sunroof. The arms are in retract position to and the motor keeps spining because the machanism thinks it's open therefore trys to lock the roof when moving off and stops spining when i'm stop. Any one had there sunroof cable break off?
