Broken sunvisor clip

One of the sunvisor clips on my car did not last 28 years, has anyone got a spare one?

Many thanks.

Yep, but why buy new when you can recycle [;)]

It's also my way of encouraging 924 owners (like yourself) to post.

Should be a VW part, I think it's in the "alternate parts" faq on the 944 forum. Early 944s being the same and all.

I wouldn't bother with used, it'll be at least 25 years old and as likely to be worn out. New ones are pennies.

Remove the 2 scews and the base. Using the base as a template cut out the shape from a peice of plastic ( I use an old rally plate but then I have hundreds of them)
Scew the new peice in place using the original screws and with a cable tie through it... Tighten the tie trough the slot in the visor.
Job done.... no cost.

The infamous Turbo cab project had two new ones from Porsche Centre West London for £5. Whilst Geoff's method is undeniably cheap, and ingenious, I presume it doesn't allow you to twist the visor across the top of the door when travelling East... (Or North in the mornings, or South in the evenings...)?

Oh... I guess also they could be cheaper still if your OPC does discount for PCGB members...

Advantage with buying new ones from the OPC is that they aren't 20 odd years old as well, I went through 6 or 7 with one of my 924s trying to do it with ones from other cars that were also 20 odd years old before I just gave up and bought some new ones from the OPC [;)]

No but in 50 odd years motoring I realised that I had never twisted a visor round it didn't bother me... [;)]
