Hi,
My 05 registered 32k mile boxster 2.7 tip has a little problem which is currently being fixed. It won't select gears. I'm told that this is due to the selector cable(s?) breaking and have also been told that a lever mechanism is seized also.
I'm suspicious that there's an underlying problem for two reasons - first, the man from Porsche was quite happy to admit that he was familiar with the problem and secondly I was talking to a car dealer who described what had happened almost before I could tell him.
I know that in the big scheme of Porsche things to go wrong, this may not turn out to be hugely expensive (then again, it might!) but I would like feedback or a pointer or two on this, as if there is a manufacturing fault which is causing this I'm definitely going to have a pop at someone for the bill.
So, who of you out there in cyberspace have had your tip cables fall apart? And have you claimed warranty or the manufacturer for the costs?
Cheers
Andrew
