Bubbling noise from passenger air vent?

Mike M

New member
As the title says, every now and again and I believe wind direction relevant, I hear a bubbling noise coming from the passenger air vent, the one that discharges against the passenger window. Any ideas? Dosent appear to be giving any adverse effects, no water in the cabin, air-con ok, curiosity now has the better of me!!!!!!!

Hasn't there been something before on here about actual bubbles appearing from that vent? I don't remember the outcome but you can see how water could get in (via air intakes if pollen filter missing?) then accumulate in a low part of the ducting.

Hello Mike,

Very occasionally I hear the same noise, after being caught in heavy rain. I believe water finds its way in via the airduct at the top of the bonnet. No adverse effects though, and disappears when the car has dried out.

Hope this is of help

regards

I hoped thats all it was, and your correct come to think of it, generally when its been raining, if nothing else it prooves I take it out in the rain [;)]

I had bubbling out of that vent which turned out to be from a pierced air con evaporator which is between the bulkhead and fuel tank. This was following an air con regass and was noticeably green from the dye they put in. If your aircon is working fine then I guess you can rule an air con evaporator leak out though.
