Bugatti and PCGB Open Day and British Grand Prix - 5th July

KIRK

New member
Graham, I have no suggestion about where to meet up except some where along the A40. As an aside last year I think there was only one Bugatti that made the trip back to Cornbury from a total of three Bugattis at their club. Kirk

At the Coffee Morning we were discussing a meeting point to go to the Bugatti Breakfast meet followed by a drive back to Cornbury House to Watch the British Grand Prix

Any suggestions?

This is whats on the Events Page

"This relaxed get-together, a joint effort by the two Clubs, will start at the home of the Bugatti Owners' Club at Prescott Hill in Gotherington, Gloucestershire. Club Members and their guests are invited to meet for a breakfast at the Prescott Clubhouse at any time between 9am and 12 noon, before driving a scenic route to Cornbury House.

A parking and display area will be reserved for Porsche and Bugatti cars, and those who wish to stretch their legs will have the opportunity to walk the famous Prescott hillclimb course.

Later, back at Cornbury House, the British F1 Grand Prix will be screened upstairs on the mezzanine floor at the rear of the building. If you would like to take part please register your name and the number of guests you will be bringing with you by e-mailing events@porscheclubgb.com, or by calling 01608 652911

Ruddy unreliable those Bugattis. No wonder they were acquired by Volkswagen.

How about meeting in or near Stow-on-the-Wold, we could then drive across to Toddington then into Prescott. Saves having to go through Cheltenham and a nicer drive than the A40

How about the Cotswold Gateway Hotel at 09:00 thence on to Prescott via Bishops Cleeve? Hr. Bartlett Oberhauptmann R31 (erste klasse und bar) Die Cotswold Region - Vorsprung durch frivolitäten

Nein. Ve are definitely not German spies. Kein weg. Oh alles richtig, ve konfess, wir sind mitglieder der Funften Kolonn. Wir haben geschickt von Deutschland nach England zum abstimmung 'Ja' in der 2017 Europaisher Volksabstimmung. BTW, ve see your name und are vondering if you have been sent by ze French for ze similar purpose. Un ami.

Thought it was at the Burford Gateway Hotel. The Obergruppenfurher is on holiday visiting Italy and doing some research on the latest Haute Couture Hi Vis apparell and it was his suggestion. We could all get severely punished if we go off piste.

UPDATE

We would like to announce that, after a robust discussion held at the Witney Car Show last night, the Gazebo and Flag Erection Committee (GAFEC) of the Cotswold Region Popular Front agreed that the suggested meeting place for our Sunday run to Prescott and then to Cornbury House would be at the Maugersbury Road Car Park, GL54 1HH, in Stow-on-the-Wold, at 09:00 for a prompt departure at 09:15.

The location can be found by clicking [link=https://goo.gl/maps/8KJgC]here[/link]. You will be pleased to know that parking charges at this car park do not apply until after 10:00 on Sundays.

Well, we have a new Strasse Meister!!! James did a good job today of leading our small convoy to Prescott and then onto PCGB. Thanks James. I am not going to tell anyone but your 928 has been polished very nicely indeed. And do not try any denials. Whatever happened to Patina? Is she still around?

OAP

I think there might be an imposter around. I don't believe Kirk would give me two compliments, one for leading our convoy and one for my car being clean(ish).

Can the real Kirk come back please I think this one might just upset the whole cosmic balance

Patina is just lying low at the moment, the winter is when she really shows herself.

Here are some pictures on the Porsche Club Facebook page from yesterday

James,

I did not realise that there was a special day out at PCGB and Prescott (not John I hope but he is big enough for parking on). My links to PCGB web pages have been repeatedly diverted over the past few months and I now understand that my account has been hacked! Further investigation has shown that I have a doppleganger who also goes by the name of Eddy Jordan and it is he who turned up on sunday posing (if that is the correct word) as me!!!. For future reference you can tell us apart by the following:

1 Eddy is six inches shorter than me (in all departments)

2 Eddy has better dress sense and wears designer Hi Vis and super smart budgie smugglers.

3 Eddy does not have the refined accent that I have.

4 My hair is all my own and Eddy has a syrup.(Cockney rhyming: reference for oop north and aye oop north members)

James, all comments of a positive nature concerning yourself and purportedly being ascribed to me are withdrawn unreservedly. I hope this sets the record straight (ish).

HOT NEWS

In today's Times newspaper was a small headline "Budgie Smugglers". Regretably this was not about the garment repeatedly refered to by

Hr. Bartlett (I think it has beome a dangerous obsession). However it was concerning the actual smuggling in Europe of budgies and other small birds. PCGB and Region 31 were not implicated.

OAP

Well Eddie/Kirk or whatever your name is. That explains a lot, I will have to be super vigilant in future. The first sign of a compliment and I will be reaching for the barnett to see if it is real.
