sorry i know it's a stupid question to ask.

My 964 recently has it's rear parking bulbs gone off, I would like to know which type of bulb that I should go for? and how to replace them?
and license plate blub I would like to change them to white as well, but i have no idea which type of bulbs that I should go for..

thank you..

sorry guys now i know the head lamps are H4 but no idea how to replace them..
is there any DIY website out there? but i couldnt find one ..

For the headlamps you need to unscrew the little screw at the bottom and remove the colour coded headlamp ring. Then use a large flat blade screwdriver to remove the big screw at the bottom. Then prize the headlamp off - at first it will seem like it won't move. Once off, just replace the bulb.

p.s. don't touch the other two screws at the top and the side because they're only for aim adjustment.

Rear light/stop light bulb is type 380 and is 21w/5W. Easy to fit - just undo the philips screw on the outside of the rear lense. Pull the light unit out. Twist the bulb holder out and you can get to the bulb for replacement. Refit is the reverse.

If they have both gone though.....might be worth checking the fuses in the top corner of the front bonnet.

Number plate lights are held in with a couple of screws from below. Bulb is a festoon type (about 4w or 5w). Very easy to take out to check the exact size/shape/wattage.

For info, front/rear indicators and reversing lights are type 382 and 21W

Headlamp replacement - remove the screw below that holds the trim ring on. It clips over the top. Once that is off undo the screw at the botom that this reveals. Headlamp unit can then be pulled out. Should see the connector on the back of the bulb. Pull this off. Unclip the bulb from the bent-wire type clip. Reverse....

Avoid touching the glass of the H4 lamp with your fingers - can cause premature failure.

I've known this for a while but know it's not the bulbs - it's the sender/switch on the transmission casing that I need to fiddle with. Hasn't worried me as it's not an MOT requirement. Told this is not uncommon for some. Do you know if the bulbs are fine?

i've switched the parking bulbs with the fog ones, the fog bulbs always work so i guess it's the problem with the sender switch?
