Add your names if seriously interested to this thread. I will try and negotiate a discount.

The normal price is around 393 GBP.

I have a Bell Radar and Laser detector which I have had for some time, and find really useful. However it attaches to the windscreen with stickers and is a bit of a faff to put up and take down.

In a society where people will break into your car and steal your car radio which they can sell for what -£15 down the pub, the attraction of one of these £300 devices on show in a soft top does concern me.

How does the road angel fare in this regard?

Have a serious look at the Road Pilot (www.morpheous.co.uk) before you buy. You can mount it behind the Boxster gear lever and remove it in two seconds to avoid any unwanted attention while you're away. Mine was fitted by my OPC at a discount and has worked a treat.

Count me in if the price is right. Not for me you understand but for the wife's Scooby.

As I found out yesterday when I took my track day wheels to Silverline (for Spa at the end of the month) the cmost omfortable cruising gate for an 03 WRX is 4000-4500 rpm (100-115 mph).

Hi Brian,
how do you find using teh touch screen on the Road Pilot, is it OK when the car is moving ?

Using the Road Pilot touch screen is no problem, even on the move. However, you rarely need to do so as the screen changes automatically to suit the circumstances eg speed limit and distance as you approach a camera. Setting the options can be done on your PC when you connect to update the database, so the touch screen is not essential even then. The only exception is recording an undetected camera - which has never happened in my experience.

You can fit another (relatively cheap) mount in a second car, but then you lose all the usefull accumulated information about averages, business mileage etc. Database updates take about thirty seconds via USB/Internet and occasional software improvements about two minutes. My only reservation is that the speakers are not loud enough when driving enthusiastically with the top down - ie when you need them most!

Fit the mount directly to the storage slot under the climate contols and forget about the inelegant bendy arm stuck to the windscreen. Wire the power to a connector behind the radio to leave the lighter slot free, and stick the GPS detector under the plastic valance by the wipers. The result is that when you remove the pocket sized screen the installation is almost undetectable save for the matchbox sized black recessed mount.

I use it all the time, even on familiar short journies when I'm prone to forget if the CD is good!

If the discount is good, I could be tempted. I used to have a detector some twenty years ago when they were illegal and got a ticking off by a motorway patrol car on the M62 who pulled me over when they saw it sitting on the dash of my highly powered 1100c MkII Escort.

Cheers

Why doesn't somebody call Blackspot direct in Towcester and ask to speak to Dave Clarke (one of the founders) and ask him to do a PCGB special deal.

Dave is a brand new GT3 owner and I am sure would do something if there was enough interest backed by the club.
