Bulkhead swimming pool!

I was checking out my very lack-luster windscreen washers this afternoon and as a result removed all the hoses and connections to check they were clean. Whilst in that general area I noted that the 'trays' both sides of the battery were full of water ( I had just washed the car). I tried to find a blocked drain plug but nothing obvious showed itself.

Is there a drain and if so, where about is it?

Yes there are drain holes - they look like this (yours may have plugs and hoses - these were deleted by the time my car was built)
You'll need to remove the battery cover and the 2 trim panels each side of the battery to get to them.
There are 3 altogether - 2 are easily seen at each side, another is less easy to see but near the battery.

Thanks for the info. I'm sure mine has a grommet in the hole you've shown. I was worried if I pulled it, the interior would fill up!

Excellent feature, I've done all the little jobs as per the feature and the drive was almost flooded, it was quite disconcerting to see how much water had been retained within the vehicle.

All I've got to do now is sort out the problems that have been caused by the leaks with the sodden electrics under the passenger seat!

I've obviously missed something, I went to the car this morning to hear a frantic buzzing which turned out to be the central locking solenoid on the drivers side cill. A quick examination showed once again, the floor was flooded.

I've removed the seat and the 'water level' was so high behind the seats, it was running into the front footwell. Obviously the wiring has become wet and I'm assuming shorting the wiring out which runs this area, hence the solenoid going crazy.

I've once again removed the seat and started drying out the floorpans. The water seems to becoming in from the rear of the car, the front bulkhead drain areas under the bonnet are fine and dry so, apart from the rear roof drains which I know about, it there any other areas I should check over?

possibly completely unrelated..one of the girls on Tipec has complained about water in the foot well and some one said it could be the washer bottle leaking hose connection .Was told to remove the front drivers wheel and inner arch cover but in the hand book it shows passenger side . Hope this helps ,water is devil to find its source .

You might want to check the carpeting that covers the lower part of the doors. If this is damp then the door membranes could be split or perforated and allowing water to penetrate into the interior dripping down onto the carpet underneath the seat(s).

I think I may have located the problem. The plastic cover that goes over the rear area and directs the water down the drain holes has been torn in a couple of places and I think the water is leaking through that and running down the rear bulkhead, hence my flooding issue.

I'll have to try and think of a way to temporarily seal it while I get some new covers, and hope it doesn't rain much over the next couple of days!
