Bumper Replacement

Hi Guys

I am seriously thinking of upgrading my '88' Carrera's bumpers to the 964 type.

Can anyone tell me what is involved and what sort of costs are also involved, with and without fitting (I have a friendly and very cooperative body shop).

Also, is it possible to keep the "whale fin" on the back as I believe the 964 comes with the retractable air intake.

Regards

Phil

I had the job done. Work involved:

Replace front bumper (don't bother with headlamp squirters - too fiddly)
Replace rubber seal kit + front grille
New pair of side sills
Front and rear mounting frame kit
New rear bumper
You can keep existing rear reflector & rear fogs if you wish.
Therefore no extra wiring work.

£1500 parts
£1000 fitting and spraying

Regards

Once the new side skirts are on, (glued or bolted?) how do you access the torsion bars?

Hi, see my website in the footer for details of how I did this to mine.

If you get the 2-piece side skirts, the 'fin' unbolts to gain access to the torsion bars.
