Burble gone squeak

Over the last weeks, starting pretty much when we had the really cold snap, and getting progressively worse ... the flat 3.8 has gradually lost its burble. Replaced by a not-so athletic sounding squeak - engine speed related, and until its warmed up, doing its best to drown out the sports exhaust.

So what do you think it is ... Water Pump? and should I be driving it?

Engine belt - get it replaced under warranty.
