bush size for 1991 S2 front anti-roll bar?

Nick,

Do what I did. Get under the car. Get an adjustable spanner and put the round roll bar between the jaws and tighten so it is has slight friction against the bar then measure the gap. Dont forget the roll bar reduces at the ends so you need that dimension as well.

I thought the outer edge diameter where it goes into the drop link were all the same. A 91 s2 is most likely a 26.8mm. Its the diameter beside the inner front mount that you need to measure.

Sandy,

I think they can both vary. I know that when I redid the bushes on my S2 I was sent bushes for the outer links that were too big (i.e. they were made for thicker bars.) And it stands to reason that the inner ones will vary as that will correspond directly to the bar thickness.

Oli,
On the powerflex website they only seem to have two options for Arb drop link diameters, there appears to be one to fit 30mm arb and another which is supposed to fit all other s2 and turbo arbs other than 30mm. So my understanding of that is that all 944 s2s and turbos have the same 18mm outer diameter where it meets the drop link (unless someone has put 30mm 968 m030 arb on). I am about to order this for my car but if my understanding is wrong then please let me know.

Sandy,

Sorry, I can't really help. I do recall that I had the 'standard' bushes when I bought them from powerflex, and they were wrong. It was only when I 'phoned up and queried them that I was told there were other sizes. It may therefore be worth a quite telephone call to investigate what the situation is. If you do this then certainly measure your bars before ordering, so you can be 100% sure what you want.

Oli.
