Mick Mckinnery has kindly volunteered to organise this run for us, it will be the usual start at Scotch corner and include lunch at the Tann Hill Inn, the highest pub in the country. Mick is making enquuires this coming weekend in the way of a dry run so needs an idea of numbers.

If you are interested please stick a comment on this thread.

Cheers[:D]

Hi Nick

Back from the arctic - any details of the route you will be taking - we would like to join you for the run and lunch.

Cheers
Rita & John

Hi John/Rita, Mick has confirmed that the restaurant is booked for us, he will confirm the route, stops etc by mid week and I will publish them on here ASAP.

Cheers

Mick has been and made a dry run today and finalised the route and times, details as follows;
  • Meet at Scotch corner services, leaving at 11am at the latest.
  • Travelling to Hawes via Bolton Castle roads with a stop off at the Green Dragon to see the water fall (its the one that Kevin Costner showered in, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves![:)])
  • Up through the Butter Tubs pass and onto Tann Hill for lunch at 1pm
Route maps will be supplied on the morning just in case anyone gets left behind.

See you all there.

Hi Nick - change of plan - June and I can now join you on Sunday - last opportunity to enjoy Box ! See you at Scotch Corner services at 11am.
Chris

Please note there is a round of the superbikes at Croft this weekend and is always well attended. Whilst it
shouldn't affect members travelling down the A1m, anyone travelling from Teesside should consider their
route, as the Darlington ring road may be congested particularly at the Reg Vardy roundabout.

We both enjoyed the day, sorry we had to depart after lunch and missed the run back, Thanks very much for organising it Mick.

Thanks Mick from June and myself - really enjoyed it particularly once we got the roof down - pity all June's pictures were spoilt by an MX5 in front of us blocking the view of the porsches ! - only joking Alan !
Chris

Hi Chris
That's a shame, however Pat was able to take some nice photo's of the Porsches through the front window of her Mazda. I'll post one or two tomorrow when I get the chance to download them from her PC, so you can see what you were missing!! The moral of the story is "never let an MX5 get in front of you when you're driving a Porsche".
Anyway, the MX5 has one of the best looking back ends in the business, especially when Pat's in it!!
Alan
PS Thanks a lot, Mick & Jasmine. Brilliant driving roads. Really enjoyed it. Would have been even better in the Boxster S. A new cable has now been ordered for the roof mechanism, and the roof is now temporarily fixed in the 'up' position courtesy of RLR, so I should be able to come on the 'Weardale Run' on Wednesday club night.

Alan,

glad you got the roof sorted and hope its not too expensive, I'm away on business this week so won't make it tomorrow night.

Judging by the weather tonight and the forecast you'll need the roof up anyway, looks like it could be a rerun of a couple of years ago with the flash floods at Stanhope.

See you next month

Ash
