Buying a 911 in London

Hello all

I am going to try to test drive a 911 Carrera S and a Boxster S this Saturday. I have up to £35K to spend and I live in Clapham, London.
Are there any dealerships that you would recommend? I have just spoken to AFN Chiswick but they seemed very snotty and blaise!

Also; what kind of spec/mileage / year could I expect for this outlay?

Many thanks

Sorry, can't help you with London dealers am afraid.

A quick look on the Porsche website reveals a choice of Boxster S models at that sort of budget. You should be able to find one less than 2 years old with very modest mileage - there is Boxster S with less than 3000 miles at OPC Nottingham if you are willing to travel or the desirable RS60 Spyder at Tonbridge with 4000 miles.

With a 997, from a Porsche dealer, you are probably looking at a car 5 years old with 50k miles on it and there don't seem to be any at the London dealers at that budget.

The 911 and Boxster are quite different cars but clearly, you will get a much younger and lower mileage Boxster S for your money. Depends if wind in your hair or 4 seats take priority. Boxster S is a great, great car but if you've always wanted a 911 you will still have that itch to scratch and people with beards will ask you if you are a hairdresser.

At that budget, there is also a huge variety of other Porsche available - Cayman, 996 turbo or a superb example of an older air cooled 911, all have their followers. Depends what you want to use the car for and how often. There have been plenty of other debates on here about the merits of various cars so trawl through and have a look. Enjoy the test drives and best of luck.
