Buying Advice

ORIGINAL: dtroughton I'm considering a Cayenne for my wife. I happened to see a really nice example of a Cayenne S Tiptronic S for sale privately in my local area. It's an 06 model with only 15,000 miles on the clock. It's well loaded with extras, but has an issue with the Satnav screen and it needs a major service. Can anyone tell me what the likely cost of the service is (through an indy) and what the cost of the screen could be (worst case). The owner is asking £16,000. I tried to get a valuation on-line but this varied from between 13,500 and 18,000 - not much help! Any advice or comment would be really welcome. Thanks David
Whats the issue with the screen and what options does it have ? A major service is £520 from a dealer, I would also check to when the spark plugs were last changed (4 years), plus if any of the ignition coils were changed recently as these will cost you otherwise.

Thanks for that - The trouble is that I have no idea what's wrong with the SatNav. I'm going to take a closer look tomorrow so I might be able to give more info then, if I have to buy it in this state then what could it cost to repair.

Are you that much worried about Satnav ? You can drop,a tomtom in for £100" I,would think £14K would be a reasonable buy ?

06 PCM was not very good; not even full post code. Buy a Tom Tom or Garmin. However, any problems with PCM cost, so offer much less. Some older Cayenne's are not worth much so be careful what you buy if they are faulty. Cost more that they are worth to fix
