Hy
I'm newbie in Porsche world, until now have just bmw serias 3,5.. so I need advice... Planinng to buy used Cayenne 3.6 V6 08' from Max 2. Hand. Any advice what to look for? Does v6 have problem with oil compsution?!
Cooling hoses? And do porsche have just oem parts, or can find parts for example car brakes like ate, ect.. Reading a Lot thiese days, and can't find big problems, except high gas compsution.. And thats Hard to find real comps. Someone says 12L/100km and others 18L/100km..
Is possible to have 10L/100km on highway? I mostly drive on highways...

Thanks

I'd look at the 4.8 V8 too, much better performance and as I understand not a great difference in real world fuel consumption. I was looking at V6 initially, but always seemed a bit strained compared to the V8

Agree with the above the 4.8 fuel economy isn't that much different but the performance is night and day, although the post 2008 cars with the DFI engine is slightly better.

Probably a big price jump, but the next generation Cayenne (2010>), particularly the Diesel, was a huge improvement.

Of course, that V8 is Beast, beautiful sound, power.. And fuel consumption is very similar to V6.. But there is diffrence between maintence V8 and V6 which is VR6 from VW and whit that, problebly cheaper to maintence
Also, I have decided.. 3.6 V6 is smart choice for me, even for family car 290hp is decent power.. I just need more info about Cayenne overall to be sure.. There is Lot positive and negative reviews, so better to ask directly owners, What is true, and what is false..

I would like to know how much diffrent is maintence between bmw and Porsche, expl. X5 vs Cayenne..? I would problably maintended cayenne with good aftermarket parts, it would be awsome that somebody write price of parts, like brakes pads, filters, just normal parts that need to be replaced with Time..

@ Oliver
You are right, little to exspensive.. And I don't want to spend all money on buying Cayenne, plus for me 1. Gen Cayenne is better looking SUV than newer Cayenne, but that's just me..

Thanks to all

I had a 530D touring before the cayenne, apart from fuel the cayenne has been cheaper to run, though admittedly BMW was main agent serviced and Cayenne through an independent. Eg tyres cheaper for the cayenne ( even though 20in cf 18in) as not run flats as they were on 530and are on the X5 I believe.
Had lots of faults on the BMW inc blown turbo at only 70,000. Done 18,0000 in 18 monts in the cayenne and more reliable so far.

I have a V8 and a V6 both Petrol keeping the air you breathe cleaner.
The V8 does 18 MPG the V 6 24 MPG.
the V 6 is lighter and she flies when you put your foot down
at 30 plus .
The V8 is. no slouch but it feels slower .They are both comfortable cars
but i feel the V6 gives a better ride .
My V8 is an original (owned from new ) so later versions may be quicker or more comfortable .
