Buying my first 986S

First posting as a new Club member and excited to be taking delivery of a 2002, low mileage 986S over the next few days.
Quick question. It has the GT3 bumper upgrade and was that an original dealer option or more likely to be a later modification?
I'm also planning to upgrade the sound system to enable bluetooth and any thoughts on best options would be interesting, as would any other suggestions for a newbie owner!

Welcome David. I’m not aware of a GT3 (front?) bumper upgrade, and certainly not an original dealer option. A 911 GT3 part to a 986 Boxster is highly unlikely in my opinion (different wings and bonnet, etc.), so it’s more than likely after-market. A photo would be helpful.

I’m sure that someone else will be able to advise you about sound system upgrades.

Hope delivery goes smoothly for you … enjoy the new car.

Jeff

I have a Pioneer SPH DA120 replacing the double din unit in my Boxster. It has wireless CarPlay with a Chinese dongle plugged in the back, and wireless charging in the centre console. It works brilliantly. Can supply more info if needed

Many thanks, Jeff, and that makes sense. It's the front bumper and I'll post a photo when it arrives.

Hi I am new to the club, during lockdown I fitted thePCCM plus this fitted my requirements sat nav-dab-hands free well worth the effort! Tony.
