Buying wheels off e-bay

was looking at those my self m8 would fit as far as im aware but will stand to be corrected

I'm happy to be corrected but I don't think they will fit.

Your Lux should have 23mm offset iirc, so to go to 52 you'll need 30mm spacers all round. This will add about ÂŁ200 to the cost.

Fitting the wrong offset will mean they sit stupidly inside the wheelarch, and your wheel bearings will become as consumable as petrol....[&:]

Ok, so how many people on here are after those wheels?
I'm watching them as well, correct offset for me though [;)]

I have some Cup 1 replica's for sale - 17" with excellent tyres - correct offsets for early 944s.

PM me if interested.

Ooh - get thee behind me! Please don't photoshop them onto my car....[:)]

What are the offsets? I've not seen cup 1s on an early car?

ok details are

255/40/17 ET 15 on 9" rim with Pirelli P6000 tyres - loads of tread

215/45/17 ET23 on 71/2" rim with Avon ZZ3 -loads of tread left

I guess previous owner replaced the Pirellis as if they were like they were on my 944 they were horrific!

The 71/2" fronts are really rare and hard to get hold of and will take a 225 tyre - I have them on my RS and are the rare wheels that came on the 968CS. These are the best reps you can get made by Milli Miglia in Italy.

One wheel - top right in pic could do with a cheap refurb as its corroding where the laquer has come off in one part and is not the best.

Sensible offers accepted to recover original costs as need funds for tyres for the new RSR!

Edited to say they should fit all pre abs cars so yes you are ok

Here is a picture. I have some more, if anyone is interested contact me and I can e-mail some bigger ones.

Funny how threads snowball. [:D]

For what it's worth (and I'm not looking for any of these wheels) those D90's (which are from a 964) may be the correct offset, but the 6" fronts always look rather weedy on a 944. (The S2 having 7" as std and the Turbo 7.5").

Thanks for pointing that out, I hadn't realised that.
My current wheels are 8" front and 9.5" rear so those would look a bit weedy in comparison.

Here's a picture of early offset Mille Miglia Replicas on an 86 Lux (it's Mark Roberts who was the Assistant 944 Reg Sec about 6 years ago)

Skattrd, I'm assuming that's your car in your avatar? Why are you wanting to change your wheels? It's looks fantastic on those split-rims (3-piece cups I'm guessing?)?
