Buzzing instrument panel

Hi
On certain road surfaces there's a wasp-like buzzing sound from around the area of the binnacle/ instrument panel of my Boxster 981.
Anyone had anything similar and resolved it?
Thanks

Try pressing on bits of trim while it’s buzzing. This may help pinpoint where it’s coming from. Also try opening the glovebox and slamming it shut. The cup holders sometimes buzz when folded away.

Thanks Scrounger
I’ve tried pressing bits of trim, it’s almost certainly behind the instruments.
I’ll give the glovebox a slam and the cupholders a go for good measure
Cheers!

I sometimes get that too. I agree with pressing bits of trim to identify. Weirdly on this my second 981 the headlining rests on the roll hoops behind driver and passenger and sometimes makes a buzzing noise that sounds as though it is coming from the front, and so do oddments rattling in the central armrest compartment. Happy hunting.

Tim,

If the sound definitely is coming from behind the instruments it sounds as though you’ll have no option but to get in there and have a look around. Have some foam handy to stuff between potential rubbing points!😀

Also it’s a good idea to have someone with you to poke around while you drive the car and maintain the sound.

Good luck!

Jeff
