Bye bye Turbo

After 18 months of very pleasurable - but limited use, with a tear in my eye[:(], the Turbo has gone! I seem to have spent more time on airplanes and done more miles in hire cars than any of my own cars. So in moment of sensibility [&:], the car has gone - one big hole in the garage, and one big hole filled in the mortgage!
So after 12 years of Porsche ownership starting with a 944 and 4 x 911 later I've decided to take an ownership sabbatical!
Having said that, I have snaffled a bit of cash to one side, just in case something nice turns up![8|]
Catch up soon guys - will just lurk in the background for the time being!

Graham, you know your more than welcome to join us on events.
and don't become a stranger..

Thank you for the offer, I appreciated it..

Best of luck with the sabbatical [;)]

Graham,
You'll be like a man with no arms - best thing to do is to get right down to your OPC and place a deposit on something just as soon as you can. That's the only cure for your cruel pending demise.
And don't forget the faster it is the better will be the cure! [:(]
Regards,
Clive

Your dead right Clive!
I've been feeling pretty down over the past few days - spent an hour or so on the P Car Configurator the other night and put together a £100K plus spec car ever so easily[&:].
Letter of Intent on a Panamera - and might just get myself a sensible 993 in the meantime!
Cheers
Graham

993 smart move i think, i had a long think about one before i bought my 997. love my car to bits but its gonna hurt my wallet over time im sure. lots of top end cars on offer now with no city bonuses

try not to let it worry you[:D]-just write it down against tax and forget about the scary depreciation.
or buy another top end car cheaply !!!!!

Paul - I know; glutten for punishment! Just got back from Barcelona - collected my F1 tickets whilst there - see you on the 27th ![8D]

OMG - what am i to do? Since selling the Turbo I've been non stop searching for a replacement. Contemplated lots - drove 996, 993, & Turbo 2, and then today a F 360 Modena! Trouble is the 997 Turbo was / is such a FAB car!
Seeing another F car (can't bring myself to say 'that' word on this Forum!!) tomorrow. OMG therapy needed!

'What am I to do'. First stop is to read Porsche Post April 2005; An Italian Mistress: my write up of 360 Modena v 997S. I ended by saying this:

'A Ferrari is like an Italian Mistress. Beautiful to look at, goes wonderfully well and sounds simply great, but not suitable for marriage'

Second stop is to telephone me or Rob... both have owned 360's

Nice avatar - whilst its not nice to see the gap in the garage, the money is at least earning money while its burning a hole in your pocket !

I'm sure you'll find soemthign to amuse you for the odd occassion you get to drive it
