C post ultrasonic sensors

I have been working on the car for the last few days doing some of the little, but ultimately satisfying jobs. While cleaning up the boot carpet this evening I followed back two unknown black wires and ultimately they go to the ultrasonic sensors in the C posts, just by the rear seats. The sensors look factory fit, (I have the LEDs in the door pins suggesting a Porsche alarm of the period) but for some reason they aren't terminated anywhere, and all I have are two very small plugs on the end, one red and one white.

Can somebody tell me what/where they would have originally been plugged into? Thanks.

James

Watching this one with interest - I presume these are behind the small grilles by the back seats? The grilles that look like the interior temperature sensor grilles in the front?

I too have wondered what these are for ...

Oli.

Exactly. Nicely fitted in the pillar/post but odd to find the wires literally flapping around in the boot. Ironically I managed to set the alarm off while fiddling around, so at least I know that it works to some degree.

Thankfully I still have my Thatcham immobiliser to protect the car.

They go to a box in the vicinity of the battery - there is an adjustment on it for sensitivity - gues if its missing they shouldn't do anything unless a newer alarm has been spliced into them.
