C2 18" tyre pressures?

Checked my pressures today on my hollow spoke 18 alloys on my C2 and they were all different. Called in at garage to top them up and the reference book they had suggested 36 psi on fronts and 43 on rears.

I did this and they certain feel hard. It seems to me that this is too high but i am not sure. The tyres as conti N rated.

Please could one of technical chaps please tell me what pressure you run on 18 alloys

cheers

I also found that running the 18" tyres at Porsche's recommended figures made the ride even harsher, so took advice and now run 36 front and 38 rear but I'm sure there are hundreds of opinions on this one!

Supposed recommended are 36 front, 44 rear. I run mine (18s with PZero N4s) at 32 front, 40 rear and seems fine, including "˜normal' tyre wear.[;)]

I run 44 on the rear too but have been thinking of dropping it a little as well but concerned about the even tyre wear....

Thank you every one for your replies - feel a bit easier about driving home in it tonight now.

The car will take slightly lower pressure - I was advised just to knock a couple of PSI of each tyre and ran 33/34 front and 40/41 rears which were completely fine and still even wear.

Hot weather and hard driving heats tyres up very quickly anyway. (not likely at the moment I accept).

You'll probably find it a little less skittish and a bit more grip with the slightly lower pressures.

I'd be careful not to go too much below recommended pressures though as they must recommend 36/43 for a reason.

I found anything higher than 40 on the rear caused the tyre to wear unevenly in the centre. I have used 38 rear and 36 front for the last couple of years with perfectly even wear ever since.
