hi what is the total size of a 1997 c2 fuel tank ?
& how much reserve left when the light comes on ?
thanks in advance.

Believe it's 65 litres (and if that's wrong, it's not out by more than a couple of litres, or 10-12 miles[8D]).

how much reserve left when the light comes on ?
Somewhere between 30-35 miles worth.

My manual says 72 litres - but look at this thread http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=154528

Based on my average mileage and assuming the manual is correct on 72 litres, then the light comes on with 10 litres left in tank. Mines a C4 so tank may be different shape.

Above is exactly per the manual, but I wouldnt presume 10 litres is exact.

There is a larger 92 litre tank which was a factory option mainly for Turbo users

it cannot be 65 litre because coming back from the goodwood supercar breakie club meet,
at brighton the low fuel light came on i had 22 miles to get back home the needle was in the white box
with just a bit of the box showing above the needle when i filled up
it took 65 litre = £92.77 so on that it must be a 72 litre tank
i was only wondering what the total tank was to work out how far you can get with the light on !
so maybe another 30 miles is poss on mine making 52 total.

The warning light comes on when my gauge hits the 1/4 mark on my turbo. Presume that's to take account of significantly higher consumption compared to NA models. That provided my first reality check on the cost of running the turbo compared to my previous C4. I've got the same 72 litre tank.

Ooooh 72 litres wont get you very far..............

For 72 litre tank in the Turbo the low warning light was set at 15 litres so not to far out but only about 50 miles worth, best to check by filling up one day when the light goes on rather than rely on the computer!
