C2 to C2S

Managed to change my scheduled June build from a C2 Coupe to a C2S Coupe.
Having spent many months deliberating over the spec and realising that most of the options I wanted were standard on the C2S I made the switch.
OPC are trying to push me up the build queue and I am hoping that as I have already finalised the spec' that this might be possible.
Anyway here is what I went for, usual question have I missed anything vital. Was considering PCCB on the non S but feel that the brakes on the S should be more than enough as I am not planning on doing any track days. As I plan to keep the car I spec'd it with what satisfied me and not the next owner.

911 Carrera 2S Coupe
Seal grey metallic
Carrera S wheels
PCM Navigation
PCM Telephone module
Sports Exhaust
Bose sound system
Sports seats
PASM
Tyre pressure monitoring
Park assist
Cruise control
Heated seats
Coloured wheel centres
Crest embossed on headrest
Floor mats
Porsche vehicle tracking system
Child seat preparation

Nice specification. By the way, PASM is standard on the 'S' - and you might want to consider the electric sunroof.

That's a pretty comprehensive specification (and actualy, not too different to mine).

Have you considered a 'nearly new C2S' - there appear to be a large number around (and therefore likely to be one with your desired spec), available immediately, and likely to be a significant saving on list price.

I would have gone for a nearly new car myself, if it wasn't for the fact that there weren't any (997) C4S's available when I ws looking, as it's only recently been introduced to the range...

Well I'm fed up of looking !![]...............and this money is burning a hole in my pocket ! If I dont find one soon, I may just go and buy myself an M5 [:(]

See my add in the wanted section

Peely,

Have you tried the Porsche GB Approved Used Car website? Clearly not - because there are 83 C2S cars and 23 C2 cars listed - of which 59 and 17 respectively are Coupes with the remainder being Cabrios!!

I was thinking the same - my search found 49 2005 or 2006 Coupes of which 4 were Seal Grey, plus a few Atlas Grey or Slate Grey. Lots of Silver cars as well

My OPC (Tonbridge) have a Carrera S up for £65k, which has been there a while - I can ask them what sort of deal they'll do next time I'm down there, if you like ?

The very best value would be a private sale.

Place a few 'Wanted' ads, including the Sunday Times, and you are likely to be contacted by plenty of 997/997S owners staring at a derisory trade-in offer. If these cars are less than a year old, UK OPC supplied, and still under warranty, then there shouldn't be any risks, but a potentially big saving.

Well searching the PGB website was the first place I looked ![:D]..........and if I wanted to pay full retail money, I have no doubt I would be sat here with one in my garage now.

But fortunately, I'm in quite a good position of having no p/x to trade in, and finance in place.

But unfortunately the main dealers are so wrapped up in thinking that "Porsche do not do discounts" old routine that few seem to be willing to play ball ! Which I'm sure in the not to distant future, with more and more being produced, and deals needing to be done, will all change.

As Oliver commented, I am really looking for a private sale, unless a dealer is looking to sell quickly and without fuss.
Spec needs to be similar to;

997S
05/55 in Silver
Black leather
Sport Chrono +
Sat nav with Tel. mod.
Sports seats. etc.

Cheers
Ian
