C2S blipper

Apologies all if this is a real "numskull" question but its been a while since I had a 993:
  • I have just bought a C2S 1997 with a 2 button imobiliser "blipper"
  • When I press the convex button (The one that sticks out!) the doors lock, lights flash and all seems OK
  • After approx 40 seconds all the indicators start to flash and do not stop
  • The lights in the door indicators seem to flash normally.
  • The doors and boot/ bonnet are shut correctly.
  • I have a trickle charger connected so I don't think the battery is faulty.
Am I doing something wrong or has something failed.

Polite answers please![8|]

Thanks

Pete

Peter,

How is the trickle charger conected, for mine I have to leave the bonnet slightly ajar, but I push the bonnet catch down to switch off the bonnet light. If you are leaving the bonnet slightly ajar without doing this, then the light stays on and I assume the alarm activates.

The cable for the charger is very thin so the bonnet shuts normally. In fact, the problem was there before i fitted the charger - i actually thought that the battery was on its last legs and that was what was causing the problem.

Thanks for the note but what does decode/ code mean? Is this related purely to the key ect or is this via the ECU and can be done at the local OPC?

As for the GT3, no rear seats meant two cars everywhere or not going at all so it had to go[:(]

By the way, where can i find contact details for the lot you mentioned regarding the rear grille?

cheers

Pete
