C2s/C4s turbo aero kit query

Can you remove the turbo spoilers from one of the above fitted with a factory turbo spoiler kit by simply removing and replacing with a conventional engine cover. I cant imagine it being that easy as the non finned coved lifts at speed. I think earlier cars (prior to 993) housed some air conditioning gubbins although not 100% sure. Love the look on a turbo car but cant get passed the "its trying to be something its not" look on n.a cars. Thanks in advance.

You can. I successfully replaced the factory fitted spoiler/engine lid om my C2S a couple of years ago. The C2S has a kidney shaped double grille, where as the C4S' grille is one piece. I purchased a complete C2S lid with grilles and mechanics from Ramus Porsche in West Bromwich, for about £250. I stripped it down and had it resprayed by a Porsche repapirer, in Cannock. There's a cable that plugs in to a lead on the right hand side, as you look at it, of the engine compartment. This lead is connected to a unit that raises and lowers the spoiler at 52mph, or so I thought. Of course, it didn't work when I tried it, as the sensor unit that controls the spoiler is not fitted at the factory if the car was originally ordered with the Turbo style spoiler. So, I had to go any buy one of those, too. All cable required are within the wiring loom. Everything just plugs in. Very simple really!!!
