C2S external noise when driving?

Hi, recently got my 997 GenII C2S a few weeks back... after a few nice weekend drives I keep noticing some external squeaking... it seems to be from the rear (but not the rear seats)... and it doesn't seem to be there all of the time... and mostly when warmed up. The car had new disks and pads all round prior to buying but it doesn't happen under braking. Car has done 49,000 (2009). I had the Porsche 111 point inspection carried out and no road noise was noted (since contacted Porsche Reading to clarify). So I wonder if its from the suspension perhaps? And its loud enough to hear if I turn the stereo down and I have the drivers window open. Any advice is appreciated.

Not easy to diagnose from here. [8|]

Is it a low or high pitched squeak?
Does it increase with engine speed or road speed?
Or does it happen with the suspension in compression or extension?
Are you able replicate it under the observation of another person?
If so under what circumstances?

If the pads and discs are new, it's possible it's just the new brakes pads rubbing against the discs when warm, which should settle down after a few miles of wear.

Regards,

Clive.

Thanks Clive - some good questions... I need to get out in the car again and analyse a bit. The car does come with a warranty but am loathed to take back to the dealer and leave it there if I don't have a specific problem or issue. Maybe I should try and record the noise on my phone.

Cheers,

Lee

I have experienced something similar on a GEN II PDK recently. It is a similar noise to squeaking brakes, but actually happens most noticeably when releasing the brake in slow traffic....a relative short squeaking noise for a couple of seconds. I was in the OPC today and they suggested that they had received a few reports of this due to the dry weather, the cause being a build of brake dust allegedly. It was a confidently given diagnosis, but I would be interested to know if anyone else has experienced this.

Mines been doing this from the front drivers side wheel.. In the dry weather? Thought it may be dry suspension bush? OPC had it to check but it rained so they couldn't locate it.. But suns back and so is the squeak / creak?
