C2S Zymol question

Ordered my new meteor grey C2S yesterday (my first porsche). Dealer tried to sell my Zymol detailing pre-delivery . Seems from other posts that this is a good product but did anyone get the dealer to do it or should I get it done privately. TIA for advice

Establish whether your dealer will allow anyone else on site - you will probably get a better service from a dircet Zymol detailer (OPC not takign a cut) - the OPC might have issues with insurance of people working on their site which you need to check.

Save yourself a fortune and get the guy who is going to do it for the OPC to do it anyway..

They will just bring in a detailer and mark it up to you..
Where are you collecting from?, hopefully someone will know a local recommended detailer, they will still Zymol it prior to you collecting the car..

Don't waste your money!
I was talking to Elite Detailing (they are excellent and come highly recommended by users on here and are very reasonably priced too) this morning and I was told it is a complete rip off.
I took the Zymol option when I bought my Basalt Black C2S and I couldn't tell the difference between pre wax and post, I still have the box unopened at home too.
The wax itself costs about £75 a jar so they are making a huge markup and the person who applies it will probably spend 2 hrs max on the job.
If it is applied properly it takes a lot longer and the results should be amazing.
If you use a registered Zymol detailer they will use a much better wax than the one the OPC sell.
I'm sure others have had better experiences but I can't recommend it.

i have a detailer guy booked in for monday to zymol the car, will let you know on monday eve how it went, poss post some pictures

I usually do it myself and really enjoy doing it. Usually takes a full day, sometime two. I often do my mates cars too for a 'few' bob.

I use Zymol Glasur. I have a porter cable but have never needed to use it on my Carrera as the paint is in good nick

Collected my Meteor 911S from OPC Tonbridge 13/09/07. Had it Zymol Royaled the day before by Jason, Connoiseur Valet. £250. No problem him getting space in workshop to do the job. Tonbrodge OPC fine to me.

Car looked great and still does! Would post pic but don't know how, sorry.

do yourself a favour, buy the hd & wax & do it yourself. Spend a few hours giving your new pride & joy the once over & have a barely touched tub of wax for future use. I'm sorry but 250 quid to polish a new car is madness

surely most of us who spend such a large amount on our Pride and Joy in the first place are stark raving?[:D]

Reading OPC use Parc Ferme- I've seen the guy there- so they are a 'proper detailer'

Aren't only Zymol licensed detailers allowed to do it anyway ?

very true dyllan, but the longer I've been lucky enough to own a P car the wiser I'm getting to the micky taking related to the after sales experience. I know of a certain valeting bay at a dealership that has pots of Zymol that 1st time buyers have never seen, after paying for the car to be treated on collection.

Thanks for all the replies - think I will shop around. Interested to hear what you think Chris. Picking the car up from Reading - cant wait.

Steve

You can get it done by an independant zymol detailer between £250 and £350 who will probably spend 6-8 hours detailing the car as its new. The big point is you will see them doing it and you will know that its been done properly.

hi steve

had detailer round today ,money well spent car looks great, reflection on the paint like a mirror-detailer took some pictures which he is going to email me later in the week

I had my Met Grey C2S done by www.elitedetailing.co.uk before collection. See the new car detail on his site - that's mine.

You don't need to be Zymol licenced to do the treatment, just to use their name on their web site. elite have Zymol Royale but chose not to pay a silly 'franchise fee' of something like £15K on top of £7K for the wax. He has such a good reputation that he doesn't need to rely on their name.
