C4S Front strut leaking oil

Konkor

New member
Hi,

Was at the Edinburgh Opc members clinic yesterday, had the C4S car up on the ramps and a quick inspection spotted a big leak of oil from near side suspension strut.

Any ideas of what course of action I should take? Replace the front struts with OEM or consider a replacement spots kit?

Awaiting a price from my friendly Edinburgh OPC to rectify...may have to unstich my money pocket!

Thanks

Colin.

If you are happy with the current setup then fresh OEM struts will transform the car with new tyres. You could try OPC for prices on M030 option - they were heavily discounted. Recent threads on Bilstein shocks might be worth a check. The other options are almost endless with Koni, KW & Ohlin with various adjustments - depends on how deep pockets and whether you track your car.
The important part is getting all wheels aligned by a specialist after a suspension refresh.

Hi Colin,
i believe some Bilstein dampers can be refurbished but not sure if that applies to your ones. Might be worth giving Bilstein a call to check. Could save you a few bob.

Just remember C4S shocks are on their own, they dont fit any other model! (the kits are not for C4S)
