c4s leak sorted

Hi All
I had a major leak in our c4s cab,so this afternoon we took it to exeter opc,the guys there took it straight in and started
stripping the whole interior out to find it and also get the sodden carpet out to dry.GREAT news after leaving it with them for 1 hour
they contacted me to say the leak was due to a lower drain hole in behind the rear quarter panel.
The good news is the technician showed me how to get at it without removing this panel.
If you have rear speakers fitted then remove this speaker and a small plastic panel and the plastic cup and drain hole is there
worth checking every so often, blow through with a air line.
As this little trip will cost in the region of £400.00
A friend of mine is drying the carpet out for us in his bodyshop oven, as we need the car back for this weekends drive
when the carpet was removed an inch of water was still in the rear footwell, very close to the alarm system, could have been a lot more expensive
So pleased it's sorted

Hi Paul

I do like the look of your car. I have had a C4S which I loved, currenty I am in a 964 bone shaking convertible - I would be grateful for your observations on driving and living with yours as I am contempating coming back to the C4S fold.
All the best

Hi Des
It is my first 911 previous to this 3 boxters,Totally different way of driving,Alot more input needed from the driver which I like
I have a few problems with it,such as rms, ims, clutch and discs but nothing new there with porsche apart from the recent leak,Which is one of those things
Now I know where to look in the future it is a easy fix problem,Highly recommend the 996 c4s,Great car
I am looking at a 996 turbo s for next one
All the best for your next purchase
Regards
Paul
