C4S Mileage

I'm still on the hunt for my C4S, really wanted something around the 40k margin. Keep getting tempted by some in the 50s but I have heard they need an expensive clutch change at the 60k service so this puts me off. Am I better off buying a 65k car which has had the big service with clutch etc?

Im normally a 6 cylinder BMW man so 65 doesn't scare me as they run for ever but my Porsche knowledge could be better, what do these C4S run to.

Any help appreciated, cheers.

I wasn't aware that there was a set time that the clutch needed to be changed e.e.g 60k miles. I thought a clutch was just changed when it had worn out? I bought my C4S at 48k miles and it had had a recent clutch, so maybe just try and find one where it's been done already?

I am probably wrong, I had just read that somewhere, I also am of the thinking that you replace a clutch when it needs replacing!

As for the BMW, yes, I've owned them for 5 years now, different coupes and saloons but it's time to get a Porsche now...

You will here a lot of old wives tales about the 996 and this is of of them.

The clutch is changed when it is worn out - same as any other car.

If you prescribe to 'change it just in case maintenance' any car will cost a fortune to run.
