C4S vs C2S

I know this will cause much debate, and I will try several of both before taking the plunge but I would be interested to hear what people think of the 4S versus the 2S.

Get the best car you can for your budget.
Good low mileage well maintained 993 seem quite hard to get.
Many owners seem to love them and want to keep them.
I wanted a standard C2 or C4 coupe but the best car I found was a Carrera S which I bought about a year ago (just to be an anorak, Porsche never called it a Carrera 2S) .
It is joyous. I can live without the big red brakes but if a C4S had been the best car I found I would have bought it.

I second what Stehpen says; I spent a good 6 months looking and would have happily settled for either 2CS or 4CS, but first along came a great condition, low mileage 2CS that has made me a very happy man!

As it happens 911virgin.com have one of each at the moment and the 4CS looks particulary nice!

Good hunting...

My C2S will be for sale this year.

It has new clutch / fronts shocks and mounts / Zymol / Grey Leather with Blue dash - door tops / factory silver dials/ six speed box 18" Turbos / no tails or rear air scoops / searched for her and found her in Scotland via private sale March 04 / RSB mufflers (for that original 911 sound) / serviced by OPC and JZ Machtech / and I was/am planning to put new discs and rear shocks on.

Don't really want to sell her but I am going to move to the States in 12 months time so when I get the right price during the next 12 months she will go.[]

You can see some photos via the link below.

Specialist Cars of Malton seems to have a few, all low mileage examples. Is there anything I should know?

Yes - overpriced and over hyped. For a brochure, pick up a copy of GT Purely Porsche(!).

Keep a look out in PP for some good quality member-owned cars and be prepared for a long wait.

took me a year to find mine, but I was specifically looking for a C2 or C2S.

In response to Steve, I'm considering paying a visit to 911 Virgin to see the Silver C2S and upgrade from my 95' C2.

My post is just an interesting observation as I've just seen photo's of that same car from the Members Cars section on 911UK.com's forum posted by CT993 (obviously an ex owner), with 18" turbo wheels and chrome exhaust tips.

Looking at the photos on 911 Virgin's website, these items seem to have vanished and replaced with stock 17" wheels and normal tips!!... [:-]

Does anyone know CT993?

I owned a very, very good C2S for over 12 months and have recently sold it to Gmund Cars.

See here http://www.gmundcars.com/sales/stock/240105/993/993.htm

I now have no interest in this car and can't even be sure if it is still for sale, but if you want a very good one it's worth a look.

I do prefer then 2S over the 4S, but if I was looking again I think I would go for a narrow body C2.

Good luck.

PS I have also seen Will's car (see above) and it is also a very good example.
