Cabriolet electric roof mechanism

My (1995) 993 Cab electric roof stopped today - problem was blown fuse.

In fixing it, i managed to un-hook the electric roof mechanism.

Although i manually secured the roof as per owners manual, it no longer raises or lowers on the motor, despite hearing the motor whirring.

Any tips on fixing this... i suspect i need to re-attach mechanism which means removing rear trim.

hi,i had a problem with my hood,and i had too manually wind it down.when i fixed the problem with the hood electrics,i had the same problem u had i could hear the motors working but not locking.when i looked into it turns out the hood has a few micro switches on it that control it and tell the hood electric control box what position the hood is in.and when u manually operate the hood uring the tools it knocks the micro switches out of sync.what i did was uring the tool i wound the locks to the fully closed position and the same with the ones behind the round plastic caps in the back.that seemed to put it all back in sync and its worked fine since.hope that helps




 
Thanks. That's what I shall be trying tomorrow/Sat... will update you.
The OPC and specialist in West-London suggested 210+ VAT to look at it :(( Lets hope i can fix it, else it would be an expensive fuse.
