Cabriolet sills

Can anyone answer the following question? I wondered if the Cabs have beefed-up sills?

Can you shed some light on this issue please. I have
a '91 S2 Cabriolet with some rust showing through the rears of both
outer sills, just in front of the rear wheels. The garage I use for
body repairs has checked with Porsche Hatfield and Porsche Exeter to
get the best price for replacements only to be told that the
cabriolets have a different part number for the replacement sill ( ie.
different from the Coupe part number). No one can say whether the
parts are indeed different or whether the Coupe sills will fit and
then be "fit for purpose". This can't be the first time this has
come up. Have you or any other register members any suggestions on
the best way forward such as alternative parts sources etc?

i don't think the sills have any load on them, not the outer ones anyway. I say this because i recently ordered a new pair for my S2 and they were pretty flimsy. I do recall seeing a different set for the cab though, ill check... Edit: Tis indeed different, from what i can see the part for the normal 944 is: 944 503 611 00 Left 944 503 612 00 Right, although how they determin this i don't know. 944 Cab: 941 503 311 10 Left 941 503 312 10 Right I can't tell any difference in the pics though, maybe as you said the cab one is reinforced in some way?
