Caliper brake lines

Quick question having trouble with one of the brake lines that go to the inside of the front calliper, I've got the top one undone as its got a nut on the end, but the one that goes into the calliper middle area is stuck and I don't want to pull/twist it too much.
So how does it disconnect from the calliper? Pull out twist out?

Many thanks.
Would be doomed if it wasn't for this forum.

I'm not entirely sure which brake pipe you are on about?

Are you on about the one that comes from the master cylinder down to the flexi hose or the flexi hose which leads into the back of the caliper?

Or do you just have different calipers to me?

If it is the flexi hose then you can get new ones quite cheaply from Bert Gear. Just cut it off above the flats and you will be able to get a socket on the flats of the brake hose.

Pretty sure it's the abs sensor now but can't see how it detaches

I can't see any ABS sensors there, just the speedo cable (next to the strut) and the brake flexi pipe (leading to the rear of the piston).

Saying that though mine doesn't have ABS so I don't know where that goes or what it looks like.

Cheers madrob its a speedo cable then? do you know how it comes out is it a calliper off job? as thats my problem the nuts are in need of grinding off but I can't get in there unless I get this cable off.
It's the one next to the strut.

There should be a little e-clip on the end of the hub, remove that and it pulls out I believe.

I would check my Haynes manual for you but I'm stuck up in Gloucestershire at the mo.

If I remember correctly:- Lever off the hub dust shield and you should then see the square end of the cable and the clip, the one I had didn't have a clip so you could just pull the cable straight out the back of the hub.

Cheers Madrob[:)] all off now the, the e-clip should be at the wheel nut end of the cable but it wasn't there so a good clean up and tug and out she came. To much relief and a little dance. Now have a fair bit of work to refurb and replace springs, struts, pads and discs.
Pics will go up on the Restoration thread.
Cheers James all done now you must have been typing at the same time I was.

Glad you got it off. Mine was missing the clip also so whilst I was odering some other bits from my local OPC I got a new one for 25p. It didn't show any signs of falling out but for 25p it gives me a little piece of mind. It was probably lost during a brake disc change or something in the past.
