Caliper repair kit

Hopefully tomorrow, if it stays dry i'll get my rear passenger side wheel off to sort out the bl***y annoying knock i get now and then.I've had a look on the PET cd to see if there's anything i may need and they've got a "caliper repair kit" listed.Has anyone used one of these kits and know what their for before i try and order one?
 
Seems to me that at the price you can get 2nd hand S2 calipers for it's probably nearly as cheap and certainly easier to just replace the caliper rather than remove it and partially strip to repair.
