Callander Classic 2007 - Photos

Evening all,

Visited the Callander Classic this morning - it's become a bit of a habit recently, as I've been going for the past three or four years. Two of which have been really, really wet and grim. Fortunately, today wasn't, which ensured a great turn out of cars.

Since I'm a Porsche fan, the big interest was the Porsche Club GB and TIPEC stands, featuring cars such as diverse as early 924s, 944 Cabriolets, a 928 GTS (had a nice chat with the owner) and it was good to the 964 Speedster. This also explains why mostly all my photos are of Porsches.

Other cars included huge American barges and muscle cars, and the Scottish Micro Car Club was out in Messerschmitt-and-Bubble-Car force.

There was a little live action going on in the main arena - a team challenge, essentially a sort of mix of those relay races you did at school sports day and Autotesting. Odd, yes, but quite entertaining.

So to the photographs. Very few are of whole cars - I tried to pick out details which made each car special, as it were. Did I succeed? Let me know your views. Plus I'll add more photos as the editing continues.

Cheers!

Iain

Some nice photos there.

Apologies for so many shots of my own car "¦ I was quite proud of how clean and shiny I managed to have it, for once!

Finally, I adored this Corvette "¦

Cheers.

You know, I've always thought that Speed Yellow would look kind of odd on a Boxster - I've been against yellow on cars, RS and CS excepting, after seeing a friend's yellow TT the first day he got it - but I must admit it looked quite amazing. Was nice and clean as well. That also goes to Poprock too - award for the cleanest 944 I've seen!

And although it was quite tatty for £1400, I could've happily taken that green 924 home with me. . .

Hurrah! My wee 14 was spotted and photographed. I should have polished the wheels though. [:D]

My cousin and I got there on Saturday and camped overnight. Lots of nice people, great weather, and lots of fun.

Was good to put some names to faces too. That ever so shiny 944 turbo (balck on black) may be all the encouragement i need to get a daily Porsche.

Special thanks to the guys in the 924 for lending some us tent pegs.[:)]

Wow.. Just woke up to see that I have a double. Is there room for two of us on this forum? [:)]

It was a great weekend and the Saturday run turned out to be dry and sunny while Callander got the drizzle! Great roads and good company.

Enjoyed your photos, Iain.

from one Iain to another,
