Cam belt

Forgive my ignorance but I am buying my first Cayenne on Saturday and want to know if it has a cam belt. This is so I can ask if it has been changed recently and I don't want to look stupid in front of the dealer. Also have read a couple of things about certain issues being sorted out under warranty and was wondering what these are so I can check that these have been done. I think it was something to do with the coil pack? The car is a 53 plate S. If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great. Also is there anything obvious I should look out for.

Thanks

Sorry, missed this post - did you get the car on Saturday?
Assume you tackled the dealer regarding the coil packs and cambelt. Certainly the former had a tendancy to need replacing on the Gen 1 cars, mine did for sure. Cambelt is a programmed change, can't remember at what mileage though. Other than that, the rear window switch was troublesome and fixed with a different switch and not much else to report. Electrical gremlins occasionally creep in, mine used to lose the radio for no reason and refuse to fire up again until left overnight. Very odd.

Hi thanks for your response,

Yes I did get it last Saturday. Unbelievable bit of kit, absolutely love it. Couldn't be better. Had a really good look round and there were a few electrical bits and bobs and a couple of trim issues, broken rear cup holders and ashtrays but the dealer is going to put all of these things right. Asked all the right questions about the coil packs etc and was reasured but you never really know for sure until there is a problem, just one of the risks with getting an older car.

Cheers

Welcome to the family of KN lovers. Not the busiest part of the forum but maybe that's because everyone's happy with their beast!

Don't know what wheel/tyre combo you've got but I've changed over to a set of winter tyres on spare rims, bought off ebay for not a lot. Makes a big difference on days like today with a sharp frost on the roads locally. Saves the wear on the main set as well.

Hi thanks,

Still loving it, the sheer pleasure of driving it is amazing. My wheels and tyres look standard. If I start doing more miles might look to winter tyres, thanks for the tip.
